Pagewise

Privacy policy

Effective 12 October 2026

The short version

Who we are

Pagewise is made by Srinivasan Rangarajan, India ("we", "us"). We are the data controller (the "data fiduciary" under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) for the data described here. Contact: support@pagewise.tools. The same address reaches our grievance officer for questions and complaints about personal data.

What stays in your browser

These are stored by the extension in your browser's extension storage. We cannot see them.

What leaves your browser, and why

Usage stats (only if you opt in)

If you tick "Share anonymous usage" on the welcome page or in Settings, the extension sends one batch a day to our server. Each event has exactly these fields: a random install id, the extension version, your plan (free, trial or Pro), the tool, the event (opened, completed, error, trial used, upgrade shown, upgrade clicked), the day, and the hostname of the page (for example shop.example.com). Hostnames are dropped for local and private addresses, IP addresses, and any site you add to your exclusion list. No full address, path, query string, page title or page content is ever sent. We use these events to learn which tools are used and where they break.

Turning usage stats off deletes anything not yet sent. "Delete my usage data" in Settings deletes everything sent from your install. We keep events for 400 days.

Buying Pro

Checkout, payment, tax and invoices are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record, under its own privacy policy. Dodo collects your name, email, billing country and payment details; we never see your card or bank details. Dodo tells us when a payment succeeds or is refunded. We store the order with Dodo's ids, the product, amount, currency and status, and no name or email. We keep order records as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Right after purchase, your license key is held on our server for up to 60 minutes so the thanks page can hand it to the extension, then deleted.

License checks (Pro only)

The extension sends your license key, its activation id and the device name to Dodo Payments when you activate Pro, about once a week to confirm the license is still valid, and when you remove a browser from your license.

Prices

The extension and pricing page ask our server for the current price. Our server reads your country from your connection (provided by Cloudflare) to show the price in your currency, and does not store it.

Tools that contact other sites when you use them

This website

pagewise.tools and our API run on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver and protect the service. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Legal bases

Under the GDPR we process data to perform our contract with you (purchases and licenses), with your consent (usage stats, which you can withdraw at any time), and for our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and showing correct prices. Under India's DPDP Act we rely on your consent and on the legitimate uses the Act allows for a purchase you request.

Where data is processed

Our database is hosted by Cloudflare in the European Union. Cloudflare, Dodo Payments and Google may process data in other countries, under their own safeguards for international transfers.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, or nominate someone to act for you, by emailing support@pagewise.tools. We reply within 30 days. Deleting a purchase record ends the license tied to it. Most data never leaves your browser: removing the extension deletes it. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority in the EU or UK, or to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

Pagewise is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly process their data.

Security

Data is sent over HTTPS. Our server keeps only what is listed here, and old records are deleted on a daily schedule.

Changes

We will post any change here with a new effective date, and tell users in the extension if a change affects what is collected.
